Welcome to Altars of Colour, an Ipswich & Brisbane-based painting and colour consulting business founded by me, Chris Allen.

My passion for colour and design dates back to my childhood, when I drew and painted, and has since evolved into a career focused on transforming homes and spaces. After 15+ years in the Painting & Decorating industry, I wanted to lean further into the creative side, so I enrolled at The Interior Design Institute. The knowledge and hands-on experience I’ve gained from both paths have been invaluable, and I’m excited to now share that through Altars of Colour.

As the name suggests, the focus here is, well… colour. I love how it can shift the mood and feel of a space, and how just the right tones and hues can completely change the way you live, work, or rest. My approach is simple: I take the time to get to know you and your space so I can craft a colour scheme that feels cohesive, intentional, and uniquely you.

In addition to colour consulting, I specialise in a range of specialty paint finishes from textured feature walls and decorative effects to bespoke detailing and modern techniques. Whether you’re after something bold and artistic or subtle and sophisticated, I bring a creative eye and skilled hand to every project.
